“I See You”
I have started designing a collection of printable items that incorporate my painted florals and ideas I explore in my essays: holding on, letting go, loss, and love. I hope my work may offer a simple way of connecting with someone else or with a part of yourself to say, “I see you.”
Creation Over Consumption
When the world becomes too overwhelming or incomprehensible, I know I’m not the only one who gets sucked into my phone, doomscrolling or filling my online cart with hollow dopamine hits to distract or fool myself into a sense of control. But consuming (headlines or “goods”) never serves me like creating does.
Connection as Resistance
I invite you to join me in making something, including mistakes! My printable designs each offer a way to create an object with your hands and maybe even connect with other people in real life rather than on a screen. Creation and community will be our joyful form of resistance, our small piece of love.
